Materials and Techniques

The material which we use to fish with consists of:

  • the boat
  • depth gauges
  • rods and lures

The boat is a, newly purchased in 2015, Marcraft Lake Hunter 496 of almost 5 meters long and over 2 meters wide. These dimensions create an extremely stable and safe fishing boat. The boat has four (re)movable chairs. The boat is also equipped with various rod holders, bilge pump, navigation lights and the mandatory fire extinguisher and life jackets.
The boat is powered by an, also newly purchased, Suzuki 60 HP 4 stroke outboard motor. For vertical fishing and casting we will be using the 24 Volt Minn Kota Ulterra BT front troller (prow engine).

To determine the depth, water temperature and soil formation we use fishfinders (depth gauges) in combination with a 3D transducer. In the boat, we have a Lowrance HDS12 Gen 3 and a Lowrance HDS7 Gen 3 which are connected to each other via a network so that the two devices display the same information. Through the connected Lowrance StructureScan box unique 3D underwater images are displayed.
To give you some idea how things work, you can watch the YouTube video below.

There are also several fishing rods and bait present in the boat. Thus we have the right rod and associated lures for each predator species. This ranges from light spinning rods, fitted with a small mill to heavy jerkbait rods including a reel. Naturally we also provide vertical rods and dropshot rods. The usage of these rods and lures is included in the price.
In case of loss of lures or damage to the rods the current purchase price will be charged.
Of course it is also possible fish with your own fishing rods and lures. In that case, the above does not apply to you.
Depending on where and when we fish, the following techniques can be used:

  • Vertical zander fishing
  • Dropshot zander fishing
  • Trolling pike and zander
  • Throwing with shads, jerk- and spinnerbaits
  • Targeted trolling with small lures
  • Fishing with a fireball
  • Drifting with dead baits

Furthermore, all possible combinations of above mentioned techniques are possible. As the customer you decide what your day should look like!
